  “Sallie L. Dowd AZLE, Texas — Sallie Louise Dowd, 101, of Azle, Texas, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1992, at Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Ball Ground, Ga., and had lived most of her life in Bok- chito, Okla. She had lived in Azle for 10 years. On July 4, 1991, Mrs. Dowd's 100th birthday, Azle's Mayor Cy Rone declared the day ‘Sallie Dowd Day.’ Survivors include three sons, Robert of Independence, Mo., Ches- ter of Parsons, and Charles of Com- merce, Okla.; four daughters, Mabel Painter of Azle, Texas, Lillie Hulsey of Fort Worth, Lydia Lovell of Lake Worth, Texas, and Gwendolyn Duerr of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; 20 grand- children; 35 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Alfred Dowd; four children, William, Sa- muel, Harmon and Thelma Dowd; a grandchild; and two great- grandchildren. The service will be at 10 a.m. Fri- day at the Ash Creek Baptist Church in Azle, where she was a member. Burial will be in Ash Creek Cemet- ery. The White's Funeral Home of Azle is in charge of arrangements.”
