It was winter and cold so she put Johnie on a palette in front of the fireplace. He started to cry and Dorthas Jane started to fan him with a paper to get him to stop crying. The paper caught fire and she ran outside to put it out. The wind was blowing and the fire got her.
Buried Pleasant Grove Untied Methodist Church Cemetery, Hinsons Crossroads, Washington County, Florida [6] - The original marker that John Thomas Cook made for his daughter crumbled over the years. In May 2000, H. John Cook replaced the marker with a new one.
